Welcome to my family blog. I have been married to Mike for over half of my life. I love my Savior, Jesus. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to six terrific, interesting children. My 3 oldest were born to me in my younger years, while my 3 youngest were given to me by God in my older years. I am very blessed. ~Cheri

All About Ivy

All six of our children have very different personalities.  There are some similarities in them, but the contrasts are quite stark in this particular one.

It seems her most favorite thing to do is some sort of work.  Maybe it is a perception thing.  Maybe it really isn't work at all?  Eva tries her best to get Ivy to go outside to play.  From the other room, I can hear Ivy scrambling to find some work to do instead.  Don't get me wrong, she likes to have a good time, but she prefers do it indoors.  Occasionally, she goes outside with her sisters and has a good time.  On really nice days I have to point to the clock and tell her, "Ivy, you have to go outside and play for one whole hour."  When she is she is indoors, she loves to make things by sewing, crafting, or drawing.  She enjoys reading, also.  She has read almost every age-appropriate book in this house.

So, when I asked Ivy to help prepare breakfast, she was up to the task.  And there was not an ounce of hesitation.

It looks like I just might be set in my older years.  Three girls, cooking, cleaning, while I sit around and eat bon bons?

Oh, sweet Ivy. I remember when you brought her home.
And yes, I see eating bon bons in your future. Promise to invite me over?
