Welcome to my family blog. I have been married to Mike for over half of my life. I love my Savior, Jesus. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to six terrific, interesting children. My 3 oldest were born to me in my younger years, while my 3 youngest were given to me by God in my older years. I am very blessed. ~Cheri

Yes, My Children Play With Weapons

Today, the UPS Man came to our house. We have a circular driveway, so he drives in one way, loops around the house, and heads out. After delivering our package (yummy chips from the FIL), I told the driver, "Be careful, my girls are playing at the back of the house." The driver looked at the girls, and saw this:

Yes, I was embarrassed. "Be careful you don't drive over my girls, but I let them play with machetes and axes!"

Seth is taking a short photography class offered by a mom at our local home school co-op. He did his first photo shoot of Joy. She's terribly photogenic, isn't she?! I think he did a great job, even if he is a little weird.

Oh yeah, our kids play with weapons too :)

its funny - I can promise other parents that their kids wont be exposed to alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, porn at our home - but the weapons?? Yeah, sorry!! We love our air soft guns and leatherman knives!

Way to go, Seth - Mama;s got lots of beautiful kids for you to photograph!

The Landes Family

I just had to laugh. My kids do the same thing. It never fails when they are playing with things they are not suppose to someone sees them. At least the UPS man saw them and was aware that he may be chapped to death if he hit them. Love it.

Cheri,
This is hilarious!! Mostly because I related so well to the story! I few weeks ago I sent my boys out to try to chip the ice off the walk because my grandparents were coming over and I didn't know, until I was alerted by another child, that they were swinging a huge sledgehammer to chip the ice. Thank the Lord they didn't "chip" themselves..or the sidewalk either for that matter! And then there was this incident:

Anyways, I stumbled across your blog and started reading because I, too, am a homeschool mom named... Cherie!! and this post made me laugh so hard.

Nice to meet you Cheri!
