Welcome to my family blog. I have been married to Mike for over half of my life. I love my Savior, Jesus. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to six terrific, interesting children. My 3 oldest were born to me in my younger years, while my 3 youngest were given to me by God in my older years. I am very blessed. ~Cheri

Imperfections

So, I decided to cut my hair.  I decided to go short.  It has been many, many years since I had short hair.  My hair just looked blah, fuzzy, and difficult to work with.  So, this was today.

Once I got to my appointment, the lady talked me into keeping my long hair.  I really did not want to cut it, but something needed to be done.  And she did it.  But, when I took a photo of myself, I did not notice my hair, but instead, noticed those imperfections.  I do not spend much time in front of the mirror.  I don't have that much time on my hands.  There are many days of the week that a pony tail and no make up suffice.  I know...not good for the husband.

So, here is my new do.  I like it.  She did a great job.  But, look how my jaw sticks out when I smile.  I wonder if Mike ever noticed that?  And that smaller eye?  Again, when I smile.  I've always had that...even in school pictures.  Ah...it's okay.  My kids love me.  My husband still loves me despite the weird way I look.

I'll just hide the weird jaws with my hair.  I couldn't have done that if I cut all my hair off.

It's a good look for you. Oh, and we all have a smaller eye. Me too. My hairdresser said that the secret to helping our faces look my balanced is have your hair parted over the smaller eye to open up that area more, and have the hair fall towards the bigger eye.
Eye-ther way (pun intended) you look marvelous, Darling!!!

It's completely NORMAL for you to have one smaller eye (every one actually does). Photo hint, turn that side of the face closer to the camera every time, and normal "lens distortion" and angles will make that eye appear larger. Straight on will make it more apparent, and turning the larger eye to the camera will make it seem even larger. ;)

But seriously, you are BEAUTIFUL! Embrace those imperfections because they are you. I bet your Dh loves them if he even notices, and I know the kids don't see them at all.

you are so funny!! I LOVE it! I think your face looks THINNER! That might be why you think your jaw looks like its "sticking out" - its not, trust me :)

I have a smaller eye when I smile too!! Whatevs! Its all about character, right?!?!?!

Love your new cut! And I think you're beautiful! In fact, in your "look at my imperfections" photo, I thought you looked very much like a dear friend of my sister, who I think is pretty gorgeous.

I, like you, have a big law line, which is why my layers start right there...to soften it a bit. I'm also learning which way to angle myself better when taking photos so as not to enhance that feature. ;)

Love the cut...it makes you look younger!
We all like that, right!
Yes, that would be fun to get together sometime we travel south.
What part of Virginia are you in?
