Joy came to me today looking like this.
Apparently, she wanted to "curl" her hair. It took me about 15 minutes to get this mess fixed.
She also lost a pretty wad of hair. Now I know why my mom kept my hair short when I was little.
Welcome to my family blog. I have been married to Mike for over half of my life. I love my Savior, Jesus. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to six terrific, interesting children. My 3 oldest were born to me in my younger years, while my 3 youngest were given to me by God in my older years. I am very blessed. ~Cheri

Looks painful too! Bless you!
Oh, ouch!
Why, oh why do girls do this? The last time my mom visited my 8-year-old got a comb stuck in MY hair. My mom had to cut it out...about 1/4" from my scalp. Lovely!
How is that even possible?
Poor girl! And poor mama too!
Oh my! We've had this happen before, as well. Not fun!
Oh I hate it when that happens!

Oh, what fun, eh? ;)
My mom also kept my hair short. Too many gum-in-the-hair trials, I guess. Which now that I think of it, meant she wasn't very diligent in making sure I brushed my teeth at night seeing that I went to bed chewing gum!!! Ha-ha!
oh wow - poor Joy! My sister did this in the mid-80's with a curling brush but the worst was when my cousin & I were little and she decided to crawl up on Grandma's counter. She ended up getting her waist length hair tangled up in a metal fan. She was so lucky that Grandma moved fast & unplugged the thing or she might have lost a huge hunk of hair
