Unexpected Paths: New Hair Accessory?

Joy came to me today looking like this.

Apparently, she wanted to "curl" her hair. It took me about 15 minutes to get this mess fixed.

She also lost a pretty wad of hair. Now I know why my mom kept my hair short when I was little.

My mom also kept my hair short. Too many gum-in-the-hair trials, I guess. Which now that I think of it, meant she wasn't very diligent in making sure I brushed my teeth at night seeing that I went to bed chewing gum!!! Ha-ha!; January 31, 2012 at 9:51 AM
Kristi: oh wow - poor Joy! My sister did this in the mid-80's with a curling brush but the worst was when my cousin & I were little and she decided to crawl up on Grandma's counter. She ended up getting her waist length hair tangled up in a metal fan. She was so lucky that Grandma moved fast & unplugged the thing or she might have lost a huge hunk of hair; January 31, 2012 at 9:18 PM
