Welcome to my family blog. I have been married to Mike for over half of my life. I love my Savior, Jesus. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to six terrific, interesting children. My 3 oldest were born to me in my younger years, while my 3 youngest were given to me by God in my older years. I am very blessed. ~Cheri

Bugs

Jack has been collecting these lately.

They are just the shells of the cicadas.  Then he proceeds to feed them to the dog.

I smacked his fingers.  It was just gross to me.  Instead he feeds them to her without my knowledge, outside, and leaves the tiny legs on my kitchen floor.

Can you see it?  It is just as bad as when Jordan did her bug collection for her 9th grade biology class.  She kept them stored in my freezer.  After freezing the praying mantis for about 10 minutes, she set him free.  She could imagine him freezing to death.  Softy.

Speaking of my kitchen.  It is almost complete.  I ordered my lights, but am still debating about the one over the sink.  One door needed to be re-ordered.  But, I really like the finished look.

The only thing I really dislike are the outlets.  They seem like such an eye-sore to me.  But, that much electrical was not in the budget.  Neither was the new frig, so I'll wait.

Love, love. LOVE, the kitchen! Just beautiful!

hmmm...can't say that I'd like the bug legs on my floor either. The kitchen looks great!

The kitchen is looking GREAT! I love the counter tops and cabinets. But I don't like cicadas!!!!! In fact when we were living in DC, we witnessed that 17 year outbreak in 2004! I have never never seen anything like it. My yard was crawling with hundreds of them and those dead shells were everywhere! Your dog would have had a field day gobbling all those up! Friends back home did not believe me but we have the video to prove it! Haven't seen too many of them yet here in NC... but there is time yet!

Love the kitchen; hate the bugs!
It reminds me of when our son was little and I noticed a horrible odor coming from his bedroom. Investigation revealed it was coming from the area of his bed. What was revealed was his "worm collection" that he had hidden between his mattress and box spring! So, I wouldn't find it!

It looks beautiful! The bugs, disgusting, but the kitchen, lovely! Now, I have to ask....can you see the dirt easily because the flooring is so dark? OH, just read the entry before about the missing earth worms...SO FUNNY! Then my son scares a small child out of our pool as he tells him about parasites and what they can do to you! Way to go, Jacob! Anyhow, your kitchen is very beautiful and you must love cooking in it now! Send our love to all!
