Welcome to my family blog. I have been married to Mike for over half of my life. I love my Savior, Jesus. I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom to six terrific, interesting children. My 3 oldest were born to me in my younger years, while my 3 youngest were given to me by God in my older years. I am very blessed. ~Cheri

Photos of Life

I admit that I have not been very faithful at snapping pictures like I used to be.  Life just gets busy and it quickly passes by.  I think I need to slow down.  I sat down the other night with the girls' old iPhone that they use as a camera.  I always find amazing things on there.  I love that every picture isn't perfect.  But, it tells a story...a moment.  Some pictures are just random, crazy.  Others have deeper meaning.

Sisters.  What could be better than having each other?

I'm enjoying our first very warm day of the year.

Ivy, Eva, and Joy spend a lot of time playing music... daily.

Would you believe this is colored pencil shavings?  Who would have thought they would make such an interesting photo?

Virginia scenery.  It's beautiful here.  I need to take time to look at it more often.

Pets are good.  Growing up, I always had a pet.  Hobo and Chip aren't ours, but we get to see a lot of these crazy dogs.

Just hanging out, coloring.  There is such a comfortableness about this scene.

I'm not sure what to say about this.  We live in the country.  Dogs bring things out of the woods.  The girls find them.

The girls find lots of things.  Eva, especially.  One day she was very thrilled by the fact that she actually caught a mouse out in the woods...with her bare hands.  My question is why would she want to?  She brought it in the house to show me.  Yep.  Placed it right on my kitchen counter...in a baggie.
She was told to immediately release it back into the woods.

Life of Grandmother

I never realized the love I'd feel for my grandchild.  Everyone told me it would be different.  I didn't understand.  Until now.

Just home.
Meeting Great-Grandmother.

Aunts and Uncle

After first bath.  Crazy how much Abraham looks like both of his parents.

First soccer game...of course.

Just hanging out with the grandparents.

Seth and Tia let us watch him for maybe 90 minutes one day.  But, they missed their "sidekick" and quickly came home.

I Have A New Title

I've always been a daughter, sister, grand-daughter, niece.  Through my life, I've added other important titles.  Wife, aunt, and mother (to this young man, for instance).

Over the last few years I've added Mother-In-Law.
And yesterday, I became Grandmother.

I knew he'd be beautiful.

The Tooth Fairy?

This is what happens at our house when there is no Tooth Fairy...

...I find the bloody tooth in the trash can and I am none the wiser.

Fun in the Snow

Yes, we were hit with some of that recent snow.  The kids were excited, and so was my husband (because he bought a new snowblower this year).

Even Moxie enjoyed the snow and being snowballed by Eva.

Hanging out in the Igloo

After the snow got old, the kiddos managed to make the most of the time indoor.

What child doesn't love to destroy the house making their own fort from blankets and chairs?

I hate taking family photos without Jordan and Seth and their better halves.  But, that is the way life happens.

'Tis the Season

The weather in Virginia has been beautiful.  The nights have been freezing, but the days are gorgeous.  Our BFFs visited for Thanksgiving.  It was a great time!  And my arm still has not recovered from the trip to the bowling alley.

Yes, this photo creeps me out a bit.

This morning, I woke up before light and tried to get some Christmas wrapping completed.  My bedroom looks a mess.  Gotta get it done before Mike comes home from work.

Always faithfully by my side.

We got the tree put up last weekend.  And as usual, I still put up my big kiddos stockings from their childhood.

And, next Christmas little Abe will have his own little stocking at the fireplace.  I am so excited to meet him.
